About the foundation

Creative practice for a changing world.

We exist to make the meeting point of art and technology more human, more thoughtful, and more open to people who want to explore it.

Our mission

Bring different ways of making and thinking into the same room.

Creative Synergy Foundation supports collaboration among artists, technologists, educators, learners, and communities.

Our purpose is to create conditions for shared discovery: places where someone can approach code as a creative material, use sound to understand data, build with light, question an AI system, or learn from a collaborator with a completely different vocabulary.

We believe technology should broaden the range of voices that can be heard. Art helps us decide what those tools are for.

How we work

A practice of shared inquiry.

Our approach connects experimentation with context. We learn by making, but we also pause to ask who shaped a tool, what it carries with it, and who may be left out.

1

Notice

Start with a human question, a place, a material, or a story worth attending to.

2

Connect

Invite people with different experiences to frame the opportunity together.

3

Make

Prototype openly, document the process, and allow productive surprises.

4

Reflect

Consider meaning, impact, authorship, access, and the next better question.

Our commitments

Values with practical consequences.

These commitments guide how we design future programs, choose tools, invite participation, and talk about creative technology.

People first

Technology serves the creative voice.

We center human intent, judgment, relationships, and the right to choose how tools are used.

Access by design

Curiosity should be enough to begin.

We aim for clear language, multiple entry points, and experiences that do not assume prior expertise.

Responsible exploration

Questions belong inside the process.

Consent, attribution, bias, environmental cost, and cultural context are creative concerns—not footnotes.

Shared practice

Knowledge grows when it circulates.

We value documentation, conversation, and exchange across disciplines, ages, and levels of experience.

“What becomes possible when an artist, an engineer, and a curious neighbor all get to shape the question?”

Rooted in Lancaster

Local ground, open horizon.

The foundation is based at 5033 Fenwick Ct, Lancaster, SC 29720. Our local setting gives us a place to begin; our subject naturally invites exchange with creative communities everywhere.

We are at the beginning of this work. That makes listening, relationship-building, and careful program design especially important now.
